Charcoal Editor Update

Version 1.04

An update for Charcoal Editor is now available.

The v1.04 release includes the addition of the command documentation feature for quickly displaying the help documentation, of a specific command, in a browser. Command documentation is available through the right-click context menu or by using the F5 hotkey.

Also included in this release, notifications when an open file is modifed outside of Charcoal Editor, the ability to reload a file from disk and syntax highlighting of MEL commands in Python buffers.

Charcoal Editor Update

Version 1.03

An update for Charcoal Editor is now available.

The v1.03 release introduces the Quick Help view. Quick Help allows you to display the valid flags for a MEL command inside the editor. Additionally, the Quick Help search string can be set by selecting the text and using the right-click context menu or F4 hotkey.

Charcoal Editor Released

After many months in development, Charcoal Editor has been released and is available now.

Charcoal Editor is a plug-in for Maya designed to replace the aging script editor. Created to meet the needs of Maya TDs and tools developers, Charcoal includes the major functionality of Maya's script editor and adds the features professional developers depend on.

Charcoal Editor is available for Maya 2011-2013 (Windows and Linux) and Maya 2012-2013 (OS X).
