Keyframe MP Update

Version 1.2.1

A new version of Keyframe MP is now available for download.

This update brings with it several smaller, yet highly requested, features. The first of which allows the user to change the video playback speed, by either slowing it down or speeding it up. Options and hotkeys are available for incrementally changing the speed, common presets and setting custom values. Please note, audio is not currently available with this feature.

The second new feature allows for looping when frame stepping and mouse scrubbing. This is of particular benefit when working with cycles and can be enabled through the Playback menu.

Additionally, this update includes an option to disable endless mouse scrubbing and a number of minor bug fixes.

See the release notes for full details.

Updated Shot Mask Script

Now Available

An update to the Shot Mask script was recently released to help workaround the case where text created in newer versions of Maya may have letters with normals facing in different directions. Prior to the update different characters may have failed to display correctly.

The updated Shot Mask script (full source) can be downloaded from the scripts section.

Keyframe MP Update

Version 1.1.5

A new version of Keyframe MP is now available for download.

This is a recommended update that includes fixes for a potential crash while scrubbing and a memory leak during seek operations. In addition to these fixes there is initial support for WebM files and overall improvements to seek times.

See the release notes for full details.

Keyframe MP Update

Version 1.1.3

A new version of Keyframe MP is now available for download.

This release adds copy current media functionality that allows users to copy the active media file to a new location. Common usage of this feature includes quickly saving temporary playblasts from Maya to a user-specified location for review and sharing.

See the release notes for full details.

Blue Pencil for Maya 2015

Version 2.01

Blue Pencil 2.0 is now available for download. This release includes full support for Maya 2015 on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

Under the hood of Blue Pencil 2.0 is an updated drawing engine that takes advantage of Viewport 2.0 and the new drawing APIs that were first released with Maya 2014. Along with full VP 2.0 OpenGL support, the updated engine includes a number of performance updates and enhancements available using the new APIs.

Keyframe MP for OS X (Beta)

Public Beta

By popular request, I've made the latest beta release of Keyframe MP for OS X available as a public download. As with the Windows release, anyone can use the "lite" version of player for as long as they like, while those with a valid license can take advantage of the advanced features included in the full version.

As part of the Keyframe MP introductory offer, all licenses purchased during the introductory period are cross-platform and can be used with both Windows and OS X verisons of the player.

Playblast/Reference Viewer Redux

Keyframe MP and Maya

One of the most popular requests for Keyframe MP during the beta period was to allow the player to sync with Maya’s timeline (like it did in the original Playblast/Reference Viewer script).

As a feature that has been on the todo list since day one, I'm please to announce that it can finally be moved to the completed column.

To demonstrate, I’ve recreated the Playblast/Reference Viewer video using Keyframe MP:
