Toolbox

The Toolbox is a user interface that provides access to the common tools and operations available in Blue Pencil 2. Among other things, the Toolbox allows users to quickly switch between tools, add and remove keys, change the drawing color and toggle ghosting.

The Toolbox can be displayed by selecting Toolbox... from the main menu (BP2->Toolbox...).

Note: A shelf button can be created by holding down Ctrl+Shift and selecting Toolbox... from the main menu.

Tools and Operations

The Toolbox contains the main tools and operations for working with Blue Pencil 2. Left-click on the button to activate the tool or perform the specific operation.

Drawing Tools

A tool's properties (size, opacity, etc...) can be changed by right-clicking on the tool button to bring up the tool specific context menu.

Activate the Pencil Tool.
Activate the Brush Tool.
Activate the Eraser Tool.
Activate the Text Tool.
Activate the Line Tool.
Activate the Arrow Tool.
Activate the Ellipse Tool.
Activate the Rectangle Tool.

Color Swatch

The color swatch button displays the current drawing color. To change the current color, click on the color swatch and select a new color from the Color Select dialog.

Ghosting

Ghosting settings can be changed by right-clicking on the ghosting button to bring up a context specific menu.

Toggles the display of frames prior to the current time. Right-click on this button to change the ghosting settings.
Toggles the display of frames after to the current time. Right-click on this button to change the ghosting settings.

Key Operations

Insert a blank frame at the current time.
Duplicate the previous frame at the current time.
Delete the frame at the current time.
Cut the key at the current time and copy it to the clipboard.
Copy the key at the current time to the clipboard.
Paste the contents of the clipboard at the current time.
